Happy Paws Pet Resort offers a variety of training options in order to assist in the social development of your four legged family member. We offer basic, intermediate, in home, at resort, and problem focused training. We have experienced trainers as part of our staff and in addition have partnered with a private trainer locally to provide you and your four legged family member with options. The relationship you develop with your trainer is important as it sets the precedence for the quality of training. Our training will provide you with a “life coach method of training”, because training is a lifelong commitment. Call for schedule of classes and times available.

Our Basic/Beginner Class is a six to eight week long course. Cost is $150.00. Class is scheduled in the evenings. The class covers the following things:

  • Week one: Getting and maintain their attention. Marker/release words
  • Week two: Sit and Down command
  • Week three: Settle and leave it
  • Week four: Loose leash walking
  • Week five: Combing commands, and doing friendly greetings
  • Week six: Stay command
  • Week seven: overall review; intro to intermediate commands
  • Week eight: exam and graduation

Our Intermediate Class is a six to eight week long course which includes the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification. Cost is $150.00. Class is scheduled in the evenings. The class covers the following things:

  • Week one: review of basic commands
  • Week two: wait command, start heel process, discuss AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification test
  • Week three: continue heel, adding distance to stay, *CGC test material
  • Week four: adding distance with distractions to basic commands
  • Week five: Command-go to your bed, friendly greetings
  • Week six: review, *CGC test material- schedule test
  • Week seven- exam and graduation

*CGC Material includes- accepting friendly stranger, sitting nicely for petting, appearance and grooming, walking through a crowd, supervised separation, reaction to a loud distraction, and basic commands

Happy Paws requires all vaccinations to be up to date and provided prior to first day of class.

We also offer beginner and intermediate agility level classes. If you're looking for something fun to do call to find out when the next class starts to sign up. Classes are six weeks long and cost $120.
